One of the locations we filmed Sundown: An independent film was Mount Pleasant Home, an active elder care community in Jamaica Plain MA. The residents and staff were part of the filming, acting as background and generally being amazing hosts. As thanks for their hospitality, we promised they would be the first people to see the finished product. Here’s what happened when we showed it to them:

Community Screenings in March
The community screenings of SUNDOWN have been incredible so far. Sharing the film with people who have been touched by dementia and caregiving a loved one has been one of the great rewards of making this film. We have two more screenings coming up:
Wednesday March 14 at 7pm at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester MA (see the facebook event for details)
Monday March 19 at 7pm at Tewksbury Public Library in Tewksbury MA (details TBA)
These are looking to be the last chances to see the film on a big screen with an audience, an experience you don’t want to miss. Both screenings are open to the public and free!
Screening at Brandeis University
The SUNDOWN team is thrilled to have been invited to screen the film by Brandeis Students to End Alzheimer’s Disease (SEAD). The screening will be on February 13 at 8pm at the Shapiro Campus Center Theater on the campus of Brandeis. There will be a Q&A session with writer/director Brendan Boogie after the movie. Open to the public and free!
For more details, visit the Facebook event and make sure you’re following the movie on Facebook and Twitter.
More awards and screenings
Thanks so much to the SNOB (Somewhat North of Boston) Film Festival in Concord NH for a great weekend of screenings. We were honored to be selected as the winner of the Best Narrative Feature!
Next, we will be heading to New York City for the New York No Limits Film Series at the Wild Project in the East Village on Thursday November 16 at 7pm. This is the only screening (that we know of) in New York, so please come down and see our film on the big screen with an audience. The Q&As during our festival run have been amazing. We’d love to see you.
Audience Award in Buffalo!
Thanks so much to the audiences at the Buffalo International Film Festival for awarding SUNDOWN the Audience Award! This is the one voted on by the audiences. Truly honored!
